STRINGS in STEREO is an ensemble consisting of members of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and Oklahoma City University music faculty. It configures anywhere from a quartet to a large ensemble that could perform works such as Handel's MESSIAH. For weddings, a piccolo trumpet often performs. SIS also is involved in educational outreach and has developed a program where popular children's storybooks have been set to original music. With a reader, this program has gained popularity and SIS frequently performs in libraries and children's hospitals (received recognition on OETA television program GALLERY). The group has been in existence since 1995. |
