Kellan Studios is the husband and wife team of Ryan and Kelly Portnoy.
Most married people will tell you that there are only a few things a couple can work together doing. For us, photography is like another language that we speak in our marriage. It is our creative outlet. Each of us has our unique strength and in the middle we overlap to produce the images that you see in our portfolio. We have a blast shooting with each other and the best compliment we receive is how relaxed people felt around us.
As long as both of us can remember, some form of art has been in our blood. As a young kid, Ryan wanted to be a cartoonist and would practice drawing and creating for hours while Kelly preferred the structure and symmetry of tile mosaic patterns and her LightBright. As they grew up, their art mediums of choice have morphed. Ryan focused on web and graphic design and Kelly on interior decorating and painting. These two unique backgrounds have morphed into their favorite form of artistic expression, photography. There is so much freedom behind a camera to take one moment and express it in a beautiful way.
Being a married couple gives us a unique way of photographing your wedding or special event. We understand on your wedding day that you want to concentrate on each other and nothing else. You also want to relax and have fun and have your day captured in its rawest emotions, not through posed, plastic shots. This was most important to us on our wedding day and we would love to do this for you on yours.
Although Kellan Studios primarily shoot weddings, bridal and engagement sessions, we are also available for personal sittings. |
