Harp Occasions was begun in 1992, when I was director of Literacy at Gaston College. I started playing as a hobby, and loved it, so started playing for various events. With a lot of experience, I now do theme weddings, speical music, accompany singers, and many other kinds of event in homes such as Christmas parties, showers, vow renewal etc.
I also teach harp and at the moment have a waiting list. Students must understand what practicing means, and promise to play every day. When that happens and they follow what is shown to them, they make great progress! We have at least one harp concert per year, featuring, jazz, standard pops, blues, Caltic, Latin, and classical music, with some fun music, with audience participation and interesting special music for harp and voice, harp and handbells etc. I am the only harpsit, but I have some students who play for weddings and special events as well, and attend bridal shows with me.
